Curly Q's

The girls thought it was fun to break out my pink sponge curlers! Macy's hair wasn't dry enough to work out, but she was happy to be able to boing Carly's curls!

Forever Sisters

I had a coupon to print a free book online, but had to have it finished pronto. I had everything ready for it except one picture. I really wanted a picture of the girls in front of the temple. We took LOTS and LOTS of pictures trying to get just one with everyone smiling and nobody squinting, etc. We finally decided to give up. But, while we were leaving, Myles told me, "Quick, just get them while they're walking!" This turned out to be our favorite one. We love living so close to the temple and beautiful mountains!

Sweet Sisters

Robyn was SO excited to give Carly this giraffe bookmark for her B-day.

Carly: For next Halloween, I'm going to be Robyn and Robyn's going to be me!

Robyn is growing taller and growing teeth quite rapidly these days, but I was surprised her new jeans were such floods. I couldn't believe she'd grown that much since the last time she'd worn them. It wasn't until after going to school that I discovered she'd put on Carly's pants by accident! (Macy likes to be a helper girl and put them away in the wrong drawer).

Little Mommy

Macy: When I grow up, I'm going to be a mom. Who are going to be my kids?

Macy: Does baby start with a "d" or a "b"?

Christie: What are your babies' names?
Macy: Fluffy and Bird.

I love to visit Big Baby at Nanny's house.

Deep Thoughts, advice...

Macy: Who held me before I was born?
Christie: You lived in heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Macy: Did Heavenly Father invite me to His home?

Macy: Baby Jesus died for us...I wanna be a missionary.
Christie: What do missionaries do?
Macy: They stay on the sidewalk! If they're on the road, then they'll get bonked by a car!

Our family roles as defined by Macy @ 6 AM: Carly is the Tickle Bug. Robyn is the Spanker Girl. Daddy is The Ice-Cream Man, and Mom is Mom.

It Makes Cents!

Macy (As she's handing me a penny): Mom, I'm paying attention!

Macy (As we walk outside): Does the blue sky (with big, fluffy clouds) taste like cotton candy?

Feel the Love!

Carly: It'll be sad when Robyn grows up and moves away from home, huh?

Carly: Old MacDonald had a loving wife, EIEIO! With a hug, hug here...

Macy at the dinner table: I love you guys tons, and tons, and tons. I love you so much my stomach hurts!

Once there was a snowman, snowman...

...snowman. Once there was a snowman, tall, tall, tall.

Most people: In the sun he melted, melted, melted. In the sun he melted, small, small, small.
Carly: Quick, Dad! Get the camera and take a picture before some kid comes and knocks it down!

The girls were out in the snow for 3 hours with Myles making their snowman and shoveling!

Carly enjoyed the part in Mr. Kruger's Christmas when Mr. Kruger hung the little girl's mittens on his tree. Maybe that's what sparked her idea of hanging her mittens on the snowman's arms.

Five Christmas Rings!

On the 5th day of Christmas, my 5 yr. old asked of me...
Mom, who was Santa when Santa was a little boy?
Christie: Good question. I never thought of that.
Carly: (After thinking for a min) I guess he must've been born before the First Noel.

Neighbor: What do you want for Christmas?
Carly: An orange.
Macy: An apple.
Robyn: I don't know.

Macy: We wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Now bring us some chocolate pudding. Now bring us some chocolate pudding. Now bring us some chocolate pudding. We want it right here!

Macy made a picture for Santa to leave by his plate of cookies.
Macy: Mom, who are Santa's kids?...Oh, yeah, the elves!

Conversations with a Two Year Old, Take 1

(In the bathtub)

Christie: Put your toys away and let the water out, and I'll bring you your towel.
Macy: I can't. My armpits are sore, so I can only crunch over. My field hurts, too.
Christie: Your field? What's a field?
Macy: It's your bottom.
Christie: Mmmm.
Macy: Don't say mmmm.
Christie: What am I supposed to say?
Macy: OK!
Christie: OK.
Macy: Ruff, ruff, ruff, ruff!

Then, she proceeds to pick up her toys with her teeth.

While listening to Tom Chapin's Stone Soup song and hearing the word, "nincompoop," Macy: That's a bad word.
Grammy: No, I poop, and Robyn poops, and you do, too.
Macy: But, you can't say it. You can say pee. Do you want to say pee?
Grammy: No, there's no reason.
Macy: Poop stinks.
Grammy: Yes, mine does.
Macy: Mine doesn't. Mine smells like...bananas.

Roll 'Em, Roll 'Em, Roll 'Em!

It's always fun when Grammy comes, when Grammy comes, hooray! She always says and makes the sweetest things when she comes to stay!

The girls had fun making cinnamon and orange rolls, and learning the art of using floss to cut through dough.

We enjoyed a salad with blue cheese, candied nuts, and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

A few days after Grammy and Granddad left, Myles made some muffins with a cinnamon crumble topping and popped them into the oven. When Macy walked into the kitchen, she exclaimed, "It smells like cinnamon!" Perhaps she'll have Myles' sensitive taste buds, too.

Granddad's Invention

The Straight-Bib Shirt not only keeps stains away from the child, but keeps the child from getting away!

Thinking it Through

Macy: When I grow up and have kids, then Granddad's kids will be grandparents.
