The same week Carly learned about violins and cellos in preschool, we went to a free violin concert on campus put on by the University of Indiana. I thought some of the musicians seemed a little young, but figured I'm getting old enough that even college students are looking pretty young, especially freshmen.
They were AMAZING! They played for over an hour without any music. When playing in a group, they stood in a semi-circle, which made for a neat sound. I found out after the concert that they were actually high-school age and younger, and were just being sponsored by a Univ. of Indiana program. One girl told us she was 13!
If you haven't read this book by Lloyd Moss, you should borrow it from us or check it out from the library. It's one of our favorites.
